I love meeting fellow animator enthusiasts, from students to professionals, so I was incredibly excited to be asked to take part in this month’s Animated Women UK networking event to talk about my work.
Lindsay Watson (the founder of AWUK) launched the inspirational organisation last year, with a mission to positively support, represent, celebrate and encourage women in the animation and visual effects (VFX) industries across the UK.
Each month women (and men!) are invited to network and share ideas to help promote women in animation. This month the event took place in one of my favourite workshop spots, The Cartoon Museum.
I had a wonderful time talking about my journey from my small beginnings in rural Lincolnshire to launching Helen Animate Workshops. It was great to speak to so many women working in the animation industry and I hope Animated Women UK will continue to grow.
